The Middlesex Regional Educational Services Commission (MRESC) invited the LDA president, who is a former board of education president, to present an in-service to non-public school nurses in Piscataway: Overview of Lyme Disease and How It Affects School Children, December 2005. Strategies for dealing with children with Lyme disease in the classroom were included, as were diagnosing and treating difficulties, ticks that carry and transmit tick-borne diseases, and prevention. Pictured are LDA President Pat Smith (L), Mark Finklestein, Superintendent of the MRESC and a commission nurse.

APRIL 2ND GALA -- TIME FOR LYME® ROCKS MIAMI’S SOUTH BEACH
Time for Lyme® Rocks Miami’s South Beach, a fundraising gala, will take place on Saturday evening, April 2nd at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, Connecticut. This is the fourth major fundraiser of its kind hosted by Time For Lyme, a nonprofit Lyme disease prevention, education, research and advocacy network. Time for Lyme® Rocks Miami’s South Beach will benefit the Columbia University Lyme Disease Research Center, as well as Lyme disease education and awareness programs.
