LYME DISEASE ASSOCIATION, INC. STATEMENT OF VALUES AND CODE OF ETHICS INTRODUCTION Donors and volunteers support charitable organizations because they trust them to carry out their missions, to be good stewards of their resources, and to uphold rigorous standards of conduct. Nonprofit organizations must earn this trust every day and in every possible way. Board members and volunteers must demonstrate their ongoing commitment to the core values of integrity, honesty, fairness, openness, respect, and responsibility. MISSION The Lyme Disease Association, Inc. (LDA) is organized exclusively for charitable, education and scientific purposes and is dedicated to promoting awareness of and control the spread of Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases and their complications through education and other means and to raise and distribute funds for Lyme and tick-borne disease research, education and other related Lyme and tick-borne disease issues, and to assist underprivileged patients in connection with Lyme and other tick-borne diseases. STATEMENT OF VALUES Integrity – All LDA programs support the mission and all who work for or on behalf of the organization understand and are loyal to that mission and purpose.
